Assessor's Board Discusses FY2027 Tax Commitments and Town Meeting Rescheduling

The Board of Commissioners of Selective Assessors met on June 3rd, 2026, to discuss preliminary tax commitments for FY2027, which will be sent out on July 1st. These are not final values, but rather an estimate based on half of the previous year's net tax bill, with payments due in August and November. The board also noted that the FY2027 proposed budget for the assessor's office is under review by the selectmen and finance committee. The town meeting originally scheduled for June 15th has been rescheduled to June 29th at 7:00 p.m. at Ford Middle School. Real estate personal exemptions will be available after July 1, 2026, and applicants are encouraged to sign up in the summer and fall to see the credit on their January bill. Mailings for chapter 61 and 61A applicants for FY2028 applications, due December 1st, will also be sent out. The next board meeting is scheduled for July 8th at 4 p.m.
