Arlington City Council Honors Long-Serving Cemetery Board Member and Receives Update from Snow Library
The City Council recognized Alan Ice for his 24 years of service on the Arlington Cemetery Board, highlighting his dedication to preserving a meaningful community space. The Snow Library presented an update on its programs and strategic plan, emphasizing its commitment to community engagement and evolving needs across its 23 branches in Snohomish and Island Counties. Key initiatives include expanding early learning programs, digital literacy, job search assistance, and plans for major capital projects like a new library in Lake Stevens and the renovation of the Arlington Library. The library is also seeking voter approval for a levy restoration in August to support operations and potential project enhancements. The library reported significant community usage, including 75,000 visitors and 98,000 material checkouts in 2025 at the Arlington branch alone, and noted a recent remodel of its teen area. Collaborations with the Arlington Food Bank to provide snacks have also been successful.
