Community Preservation Plan Approved, Cover Page Updates Postponed
The committee voted to approve the Community Preservation Plan, with discussions centering on the presentation of the plan, specifically the cover page. While the content of the plan was approved, the committee decided to update the cover page in August to reflect current board members after the upcoming reorganization, rather than including names of individuals no longer on the committee. Updates to the plan included revised dates and the addition of recent projects, with significant content changes primarily in the conservation and housing sections, and corrections to outdated open space facts.
Polarity Heritage Pavilion Project Extended Through FY27
The committee voted to extend the Polarity Heritage project through fiscal year 27. The project involves the construction of a pavilion under a state contract, which is expected to expedite the process once permitting is underway. BRC is involved, and while a company has been hired with BRC approval, there is currently no estimate for when the work will be completed. The extension allows flexibility as the project progresses through permitting and construction phases.
Cemetery Sign Projects Closed, Funds Returned
The committee approved the closure of two cemetery projects: Camp Corner Cemetery and Old English Burying Ground. Both projects have had their signs installed, and the remaining funds are being returned to the committee's funds. For Camp Corner Cemetery, $3,805.28 is being returned, and for the Old English Burying Ground, $13,333.14 is being returned. These closures signify the completion of the sign installation phases for these historical sites.
Historic Society Building Analysis Extended Through FY27 Due to Complex Renovation Ties
The committee approved an extension for the Historic Society Building analysis project through fiscal year 27. The project involves an in-depth report and final presentation, with CPA funds fully expended. Any further expenses will be covered by the HISTI. The extension is necessary due to the complexity of the report and its integration into a larger interior renovation project, which is also being funded by recent town meeting approvals. The committee anticipates that the project may extend beyond FY27 due to its ties to the larger renovation.
Wardwell Project Extension Recommended Through August 24th Amidst Final Edits
The committee considered an extension for the Wardwell project, with final edits to the plan still being made. Encumbered funds are expected to be used and billed by the end of the fiscal year, though submission of an invoice does not guarantee payment within the same fiscal year. The committee recommended extending the project through August 24th to allow for completion and billing, acknowledging the ongoing edits and the hope for all expenses to be finalized by the end of the fiscal year.
