City Council Approves Change Order for Ambulance Purchase, Modifies Trade-In Plan
The City Council approved change order number one for the purchase of a new ambulance. The original approval was for an ambulance from American Response Vehicles for $302,677. This change order adds a power cot to the purchase, increasing the total cost to $343,097, and eliminates the trade-in of the old 2016 GMC ambulance. The 2016 GMC ambulance will be transferred to the Public Works Department for use as a sewer camera vehicle. The ambulance is scheduled for delivery in fiscal year 26-27.
Variance Granted for 36-Foot Driveway in R2 Zone
The City Council approved an ordinance granting Michael Titus a variance to allow for a 36-foot driveway at 310 West Madison. The property is zoned R2 (two-family duplex residential). City Code permits residential driveway widths between 12 and 24 feet. Mr. Titus is building a new single-family home and plans a three-car garage, necessitating the wider driveway. The Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning (BZAP) recommended approval of the variance with a 6-0 vote.
