Dendeville Honors Fallen Heroes with Memorial Day Banners on Broadway

The Department of Public Works (DPW) in Dendeville installed 19 unique banners along Broadway to commemorate Memorial Day. These banners feature pictures and names of Dendeville residents who died in service to the country, along with their branch of service, rank, and the conflict they served in. This initiative, conceived by Phyllis Fard and supported by Mayor Tom Andes, aims to create a more personal and visible tribute to fallen servicemen than names on a plaque. The banners have a green backing to make them unique to Dendeville. In addition to the banners, American flags were also installed on the light poles, with flowers planned to be added later, contributing to the seasonal streetscape improvements.
