Dickinson ISD Approves 3% Salary Increase for Employees and Adjusts Meal Prices
The Dickinson ISD Board of Trustees approved a 3% across-the-board salary increase for all employees for the 2026-2027 school year. This increase aims to aid in recruitment and retention efforts for various district positions, including teachers and bus drivers. The board also approved student meal prices with minor increases for junior high and high school students and maintained the existing rate for tuition-based pre-kindergarten.
Dickinson ISD Seeks Waiver for Low Attendance Day Due to Social Media Threat
The Dickinson ISD Board of Trustees approved a low attendance day waiver request for Dickinson Junior High School. The waiver is needed for September 26th, when attendance dropped to 83% due to a false social media threat. This waiver will allow the district to maintain its funding for that day.
Dickinson ISD Board Appoints New School Administrators and Ratifies Personnel Changes
The Dickinson ISD Board of Trustees ratified new hires, resignations, and retirements, and appointed new principals and assistant principals to various schools within the district. Specifically, Justin Faith was appointed principal of Barber Middle School, Chasmin Caldwell was appointed assistant principal of Dickinson Junior High, Ashley Sanchez was appointed assistant principal of San Leon Elementary, Shanna Sowers was appointed assistant principal of Calder Road Elementary, and Aaron Weitner was appointed Director of Energy Management. The board also approved the non-renewal of a term contract for a teacher at Dickinson High School.
