Park Board Approves Worship Night Permit for Walker Park
McCoy Memorial Baptist Church requested and received a permit to host a worship night in Walker Park on Friday, June 5th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with setup starting at 5:00 PM. The church will utilize the park's pavilion and provide their own sound system and equipment. They have obtained a noise permit and permission to use park power.
Park Board Approves Magician Contract for Rap City Arts and Effect
The park board approved a contract for Marty Bishop to provide magician services for the family stage at Rap City Arts and Effect on June 13th.
Park Board Approves ArtWalk Entertainment Contracts for Mike Keagull
The park board approved two entertainment contracts for Mike Keagull for ArtWalk events. The first contract, for July ArtWalk, is for $900 and covers sound services and hiring musicians. The second contract, for June through September ArtWalk, covers sound services. These contracts are separate from a previous contract for EA Pro for larger events.
Michigan Pro Shop Permit Tabled Pending Representative's Appearance
The permit application for Michigan Pro Shop at Centennial Park (not Island Park) was tabled. The decision to table was made because no representative for the permit appeared at the meeting. The permit will be revisited at the June 16th meeting.
Park Board Approves Grant Agreement for Elkhart Park Improvements
The park board reviewed and approved an agreement to transfer a grant from the Community Foundation to the Elkhart Park Foundation. The Elkhart Park Foundation will act as the fiduciary sponsor and project manager for park improvements at Olri Park, using funds provided by the Community Foundation. The funds will be used for new improvements and will be paid out by the Elkhart Park Foundation. A project completion report will be submitted at the end of the summer, and any unutilized funds will be returned to the city. This agreement is distinct from the earlier splash pad project.
