City Council Considers Multiple Contracts and Agenda Items for Upcoming Meetings
The City Manager presented a list of items for the June 15th meeting agenda, including the 2025 audited annual comprehensive financial report and financial audit results, a study session on the council's proposed strategic plan, the approval of a contract for construction at Centennial Park, a contract for construction with Huddock Excavating Inc. for the City Digital Piping Project, Phase 2, a contract renewal for custodial services with Maintenance Resource Incorporated, a PLC replacement project contract renewal, a 2026 Miller Park contract renewal, acceptance of a DOLA Housing Planning Grant Award for the Inglewood Housing Action Plan, and an addendum to the Axon Enterprises contract. A motion regarding fee waiver for a special event, revocation, and a grant from the state of Colorado Department of Local Affairs for the Best and Brightest Fellowship Program were also mentioned. City to Improve Meeting Notification Process After Council Member Confusion
City Clerk reported that some council members arrived an hour early for a meeting due to confusion about the start time, specifically mentioning the Board and Commission interviews beginning at 5:45 PM. The Clerk will implement a process to ensure clear and specific notification of meeting start times via email to prevent future occurrences. There was also discussion about the frequency of Mayor Manager meetings, with the decision to hold one on the first of the month and take three weeks off from these meetings.
Council Members Request Detailed Reports on Parking Enforcement, Fee Waivers, and Site-Specific Issues
Several council members submitted requests for reports and information: Member Bethel asked for a report on dismissed tickets in the Mallee Center parking lot. Summerson requested information on the prioritization of parking enforcement across the city and a report on the vendor and staff roles in the holiday market fee waiver process. Member Russell inquired about the stormwater flow implications of the South Broadway Complete Streets Project, the plan to address aggressive business representatives on Broadway towards patrons and parking officers at the Mallee Center, and information regarding a large piece of concrete deposited into a backyard at 4401 South Elotte following grading or asphalt milling operations.
