Glenwood Planning and Zoning Commission Approves Sign and Right-of-Way Code Amendments, Continues Rental and Appeal Items

The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed and voted on several code amendments. Two items, related to the 319 Park Drive appeal and a short-term rental code amendment, were continued to the June 23rd, 2026 meeting due to applicant unavailability and procedural reasons. A code amendment to sign regulations was discussed, which aims to incorporate the Glenwood Meadows master sign plan into the municipal code, clarify rules for window signs, and clean up regulations for illuminated signs in the downtown core. This amendment passed with a 7-0 vote. Another code amendment concerning right-of-way encroachment licenses was also presented. This amendment seeks to streamline the process by expanding administrative review authority for certain encroachments and clarifying the roles of staff and city council. This amendment also passed unanimously.
