Laurel Police Department Seeks Approval for Fleet Management Contract Renewal

The Laurel Police Department is requesting to continue their enterprise fleet management services contract for fiscal year 2027. This contract will facilitate the acquisition of new vehicles to replace existing older police vehicles. The department is seeking to lease eleven Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles and one Ford Expedition, including eight patrol vehicles, three K9 patrol vehicles, and one administrative vehicle. The total cost is projected at $223,812.36 per year for 5 years. An intent to lease agreement is also recommended for fiscal year 2027 to meet ordering windows. The vehicles being replaced range from 7 to 15 years old and are being retired due to end-of-life service issues. The lease program is designed for a five-year turnover with an optional six-year extension.
