Planning Commission Recommends Approval for Waterfront Walkways and Docks Ordinance Amendment
The Planning Commission considered an ordinance to amend the city's land development regulations regarding waterfront walkways and docks. This amendment was previously initiated by the city but denied by the state. It has now been resubmitted by private parties, including Commissioner Caller, who will recuse himself from the vote. The commission recommended approval for the amended ordinance.
Key Colony Homes LLC Granted Conditional Use Permit for Boat Ramp Construction
The Planning Commission considered a request from Key Colony Homes LLC for a conditional use permit to construct a boat ramp at 62 Cocoa Plum Drive. The property is zoned mixed-use commercial and mixed-use marina. The applicant currently has permits for dock renovation and seeks to add a boat ramp. This will involve some mangrove removal, for which Army Corps and DEP approvals have already been obtained. Staff found the application compliant and recommended approval with conditions. The commission recommended approval.
