Planning Commission Approves 2026-2031 Capital Improvement Program Amidst City Growth
The Planning Commission reviewed and considered the proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and capital improvement budget for fiscal years 2026 through 2031. This program translates general plan goals into infrastructure and investments. The CIP includes investments in preserving and rehabilitating existing assets, improving public safety, expanding transportation connectivity, increasing utility capacity, enhancing recreational opportunities, and supporting economic development. The commission found the CIP consistent with the General Plan and recommended it to the City Council. Key areas of focus for future growth include utilities (water, sewer, storm) and major thoroughfare renovations, with significant funding allocated to Highway 59 and other arterial roads.
Minor Modifications Item Continued to June 17th Meeting
The Planning Commission was asked to continue item E1, 'Minor Modifications Number 26-0008 and Environmental Review Number 26-0061', to the June 17th Planning Commission meeting. This continuation was requested by staff to allow for more time for research and preparation. No members of the public or commission members had comments or requests to speak on this item. The commission unanimously approved the motion to continue the item.
