City Council Member Urges Support for Businesses Amidst Construction Challenges

Council Member Deb White expressed concern regarding the challenges faced by local businesses due to ongoing construction, particularly Center Avenue closures. She emphasized the importance of supporting existing businesses, not just attracting new ones, and praised the city staff's problem-solving abilities. White advocated for clear communication ('clear is kind') and extra graciousness towards businesses experiencing difficulties. Dan Molly echoed these sentiments, stressing the importance of not losing established businesses and acknowledging their role in the downtown's potential. He confirmed that regular meetings with businesses are ongoing, focusing on communication, signage, and access improvements. Molly also welcomed further suggestions from the community.
