Rezoning for Large Industrial/Commercial Development on Northwest Broad Street Advances

A rezoning request for approximately 167.42 acres along Northwest Broad Street was considered. The council considered a rezoning request for a platted lot within the MMC's property on the north side of East Pitts Lane. This request is subject to the issuance of a Certificate of Need (CON) by the state, which has now been approved. Concerns were raised regarding access on East Pitts Lane, which is a county road and currently substandard. The city and county will coordinate on road improvements. The Planning Commission had previously recommended approval, subject to CON issuance. The first reading of Ordinance 25Z28 was approved.
