North Brunswick Township Board of Education Meeting Celebrates Student Achievements and Upcoming Events

Sean Kim, co-founder and CEO of the local education nonprofit Praise (P R A I S), introduced his organization during the public session of the North Brunswick Township Board of Education meeting. Praise focuses on empowering schools to create more equitable communities using design thinking, addressing barriers that students of color face in academic success and belonging. Kim, who grew up in North Jersey and experienced similar barriers as a low-income Asian-American student, highlighted the need for administrators to have adequate time, resources, and guidance to address these issues. Praise works with schools to co-create initiatives with students and stakeholders to develop effective and sustainable support systems. Kim expressed a desire to partner with local districts, particularly North Brunswick, where his organization is based. He mentioned already connecting with Rosa Hawk and that Dr. Zakowski may be setting up a meeting.
