The board approved detention center agreements for the Office of Youth and Family Services for fiscal year 2026-2027 with Chester County and Jefferson County. Emergency Services Purchases Hazard Monitoring System for Enhanced Public Safety
The board ratified an invoice from US Fire Services for the Department of Emergency Services for the Drager Xite Live Wireless Hazard Area Monitoring System, costing $23,886. This portable system enhances public safety at large events and emergency incidents by providing real-time detection of toxic gases, combustible gases, and radiological threats. It transmits live data over the FirstNet public safety network. This system will be crucial for the 2026 World Cup fan zone and can be deployed for other large events or industrial accidents to identify threats quickly, reduce personnel exposure, and improve operational awareness.
