MPUSD Reports on $4,000 Grant Impact for Student Food Security
The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD) provided an update on the impact of a $4,000 grant received from the Seaside Homeless Commission. This funding was used to purchase gift cards for Target, Lies, Smart and Final, and Grocery Outlet. To date, 40 gift cards valued at $50 each have been distributed to families residing in Seaside, directly addressing immediate food needs for students who qualify as McKinney-Vento students (residing in Seaside). The program supports students and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity, offering flexible support for those living in vehicles or motels. The funding helps ensure consistent access to nutritional meals, supporting school attendance and academic success, and reducing stress for parents.

Stepping Stone Outreach Reports on Grant Fund Usage for Food Security Programs
