Beach Haven West Sewer Project: Residents Voice Concerns, Township Addresses Start Times and Project Status

Stafford Township to Seek $547 Million NJDOT Grant for Roadway Preservation

Resolution 2026-187 authorizes the submission of a grant application to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) for the State Fiscal Year 2027 Roadway Preservation Project. The project focuses on specific sections of Longwood Drive, Deerfield Drive, and Newport Road, with a requested amount of $547,197,000. The application and execution of any awarded agreement are authorized.

Stafford Council Approves Multiple Water and Sewer Projects and Agreements

The Township Council considered and approved several water and sewer resolutions. These included close-out documents for the East Bay Avenue Utility Storm and Roadway Improvement Project, change orders for a new pole barn and emergency water main repair at Route 72 Bridge, release of performance bonds, and tentative/final sanitary sewer approvals for 365 Stafford Property LLC. Additionally, preliminary sewer approval was granted for Ball 4 LLC, and the Water and Sewer Utility Collector was authorized to cancel certain charges. Professional services agreements with Remington and Vernick Engineers were approved for various projects, including the Mud City Sanitary Sewer Pump Station, GIS mapping updates, water and sewer maintenance garage door improvements, Atlantic Hills Sanitary Sewer Pump Station rehabilitation, Beach Haven West Sanitary Sewer Replacement Phase 9, and Ocean Acres Booster Pump Replacement Phase 2 & Well No. 5 redevelopment.

Resident Raises Concerns About Marshall Drive Paving; Township to Contact DOT

During the public comment period, a resident, Dave Pollock, raised concerns about the condition of Marshall Drive between Route 72 and the lagoon, describing it as terrible and requesting repaving. He noted that other parts of the township had been repaved. The township administrator informed Mr. Pollock that Marshall Drive is a state road (DOT) and that the township would bring this issue up with the DOT during an upcoming meeting. The DOT is currently working on the Route 72 Bridge Project and is scheduled to update municipalities on their progress.
