Fire Department Experiences Significant Increase in Call Volume
The City Manager highlighted the increasing call volume for the Fire Department. Emergency responses are up 4% and non-emergency calls are up 45% compared to the same period last year, with the department responding to 872 calls year-to-date. This rise in calls is outpacing revenue growth and wages, despite public safety accounting for 57% of the general fund budget.

City Council Reviews Zoning Amendment to Encourage Downtown Redevelopment
The City Council considered a proposed amendment to the City of True Rivers' zoning ordinance to regulate setbacks for properties within the Main Street and Waterfront Corridor Overlay District. The amendment aims to encourage pedestrian-friendly redevelopment by eliminating minimum side and rear yard setbacks and establishing reduced front yard setbacks. The True Rivers Plan Commission unanimously recommended approval.
