Boot Road Park to Host NAMI Charity Walk with Amplified Sound
The board authorized the use of amplified sound in Boot Road Park for an October charity walk sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). The event, scheduled for October 3rd from 2 PM to 5 PM, will include food trucks, vendors, kids' activities, and a DJ. This authorization allows for the use of sound amplification for the DJ.
Public Works Update: Paving, Pump Station Repairs, Park Improvements, and Court Consolidation Considered
In the Public Works Report, ongoing paving projects for the year are out for bid. Repairs to grinders at the Clover Mill Pump Station were completed under warranty due to issues with rags clogging the pumps; results are being monitored. Line painting is being done through a consortium with West Goshen and other townships. At Exton Park, the pavilion and sage structure are nearing completion with concrete pouring underway. The department is also considering a proposal to consolidate tennis courts, pickleball courts, and a basketball court in Exton Park for cost and convenience, and is seeking board input on potentially adding lights to these courts.
Exton Park Bathroom Project to Include New Waterline Installation
The board authorized advertising for bids for the waterline installation associated with the proposed bathroom comfort station improvements at the Exton Park multi-use fields. This work is part of Phase II of the park development, which includes a restroom facility requiring utilities. The water line will extend from Valley Creek Boulevard. The township intends to seek competitive bids through platforms like PennBID or CoStars.
Planning Commission Reviews Warehouse Development at Woodford Mill Property
The Planning Commission reviewed the Woodford Mill property at 401 Clover Mill Road, where a land development is proposed for a warehouse to store vehicles. The project is expected to improve the corner's appearance by reducing impervious coverage, even with a new building. The overall area is anticipated to look better with the historical house being rebuilt and cleaned up.
Township Approves Payment Report, Clarifies Costs Associated with Zoning Ordinance Challenge
The township payment report for May 27, 2026, was approved after discussion. Questions were raised regarding an invoice labeled 'challenge,' which was confirmed to be related to Caplin and Company's challenge against the township's zoning ordinance. It was clarified that the township cannot recoup additional costs beyond the initial flat fee for such challenges. Another discussion point involved an invoice for prisoner transports, with clarification provided on the nature of these transports and the limitations of the description field in the accounting system. The township is working with Tyler to expand this field.
