Board Approves Policy Updates and Sets Reorganization Meeting Date
The board approved several policy updates for personnel, social media use, and student directory information. The meeting included a recess for five minutes before proceeding with personnel appointments. The board also approved the date for the July reorganization meeting and discussed upcoming agenda items for future meetings, including the turf field, auditorium usage, and an EV bus study presentation.
District Recognizes Retirees and Appoints New Staff
The meeting included numerous recognitions and appointments. Several individuals were honored for their retirement, with the superintendent highlighting the collective 1,327 years of service from retirees. Specific retirees celebrated included Lorie Garner, Linda Stein, Tracy Bloom, Lisa Gene, Fran Rambo, John Coulter, Joan Lombardo, Jean Zimmerman, Wendy Readyates, Michelle Hardy, Tina Seager, Felisa Bosio, John Boutte, Deb Leen, Deb Coulter, Rich Signor, Mark Clay, Kathy Gordon, Wendy Glover, and Jan. The board also approved appointments for new staff members: Ashley Aaron as an art teacher at Colonial Village, Michael O'Brien as a physical education teacher at West Street, Jamie Osakowski as a special education teacher at Edtown Middle School, Nicholas Brier as a physical education teacher at Erie Road, Sarah Mang as a special education teacher at Edward Middle School, Alexis Morris as a special education teacher at Edwardtown Middle School, Jaclyn Demino as a special education teacher at Erie Road, Jenna Hawk as a special education teacher, and Emily to a kindergarten position at Colonial Village. Additionally, board member Mike Lee's three-year term concluded, and Jason was recognized for his nine years of service, including his role as board president and navigating the district through the pandemic. Jan, the secretary to the superintendent for 24 years, was also honored for her outstanding service.
