City Council Addresses Development Proposals, Waste Management Contract Extension, and Park Improvements
The City Council considered and adopted the agenda and consent agenda for the meeting. They also recognized Daniel Leichenhauer for 25 years of service with the Hazelwood Fire Department. A resolution was considered for approving Chapter 100 Inducement for Gerald Contracting Company, which involves a proposed development project and industrial revenue bond transaction to facilitate tax exemptions and abatement. The council also discussed and approved Resolution 2605, related to the Gerald Contracting project. Public comments were heard regarding potential developments and ongoing city issues. The council then discussed and moved to first reading a contract extension for solid waste, recycling, and yard waste collection services with Republic Services, despite resident concerns about the current service quality. Finally, the City Manager proposed removing a dilapidated tennis court from Little White Bridge Park, and the council agreed to proceed with staff handling the removal and seeding the area with grass.
